ilmi Science Discovery & Innovation Center, one of the entities affiliated with the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk,” is presenting the Science Track as part of the “Afaq AlDiriyah” program through a series of educational and interactive workshops that connect the natural environment of Wadi Hanifah with science. The track aims to foster innovation, encourage creativity, and develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
The Science Track offers an engaging learning experience built around five integrated knowledge-based and applied themes: water, plants, land, birds, and the valley. These themes provide participants with the opportunity to explore their surrounding environment through a simplified scientific approach that connects knowledge with experimentation and observation.
Through this track, ilmi Center seeks to deliver interactive workshops that strengthen critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills. The hands-on activities help participants understand ecosystems, explore the relationship between humans and nature, and develop solutions inspired by the environmental challenges around them.
The workshops offered as part of the track included an educational experience on designing a closed ecosystem, where participants explored how to build a balanced miniature environment that brings together different elements of life and demonstrates the importance of water, soil, plants, and light in sustaining ecosystems.
This participation reflects ilmi Center’s mission to deliver non-traditional learning experiences that bring science closer to children and youth, transforming scientific concepts into enjoyable hands-on activities that spark curiosity and encourage questioning, experimentation, and exploration.
The Science Track also reflects the Center’s commitment to designing educational programs connected to the local environment, drawing on the inspiring natural elements of Diriyah and Wadi Hanifah to deliver knowledge-based content that helps participants better understand the nature around them and reflect on their role toward it with awareness and responsibility.
