ilmi Science Discovery & Innovation Center, one of the entities affiliated with the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk,” signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Authority for Persons with Disabilities as part of its participation in the eighth edition of Misk Global Forum 2024, held under the theme “By Youth, For Youth.”
The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation between the two entities in areas related to empowering persons with disabilities in the Kingdom and developing initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of services provided to them. This supports their active presence in society and enhances their opportunities to participate across educational, professional, and knowledge-based pathways.
The agreement reflects ilmi Center’s commitment to building an inclusive, interactive learning environment that provides all children and youth with equal opportunities to explore science and innovation, while developing their skills and capabilities in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of empowering people and enhancing quality of life.
Areas of cooperation include the exchange of data and information to better understand challenges and needs, as well as the development of solutions and initiatives that improve the experience of persons with disabilities. The partnership will also support joint efforts aimed at enhancing employment opportunities, empowering national talents with disabilities, and raising the quality of services provided to them.
The MoU also seeks to expand the scope of inclusion across ilmi Center’s educational programs and experiences by developing pathways that are more responsive to the needs of different groups. This will help ensure an inspiring, safe, and engaging learning experience that unlocks the potential of children and youth and strengthens their confidence in exploration and learning.
This step further extends the Center’s mission to create an interactive learning environment capable of nurturing the scientists and innovators of the future through the STREAM methodology, which integrates science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and mathematics, contributing to the development of scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity among younger generations.
