Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: November 19, 2025

ilmi Science Discovery & Innovation Center, one of the entities affiliated with the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk,” organized a panel discussion titled “The Power of Play” as part of its participation in Misk Global Forum 2025, held under the theme “With Youth Creativity.”

The session explored how play can become a profound tool for learning, contributing to inspiration and opening new horizons for knowledge through interactive experiences that spark curiosity, encourage discovery, and support the development of creativity and critical thinking skills among younger generations.

During the session, speakers highlighted the role of play in developing learning environments that are more accessible and engaging for children and youth. Learning, they emphasized, is not limited to receiving knowledge, but extends to experimentation, observation, questioning, and testing ideas, making the educational process more impactful and sustainable.

The session comes as part of ilmi Center’s efforts to highlight the importance of non-traditional education and its role in transforming science into a living experience that combines enjoyment with knowledge, while giving children the space to engage with scientific concepts through practical and stimulating approaches.

The discussion also addressed the importance of designing play-based learning experiences that help learners build confidence, develop imagination, and strengthen collaboration and problem-solving skills, in line with future needs and in support of the younger generation’s ability to innovate and participate effectively.

The session brought together a number of experts and specialists in education and knowledge-based experiences, who exchanged insights on the impact of play in museums and science centers, and its role in making knowledge more inclusive and more closely connected to learners’ lives and interests.
