Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: December 10, 2024
ilmi Science Discovery & Innovation Center, one of the entities affiliated with the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk,” in collaboration with Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, announced the opening of admission for the Museum Management Diploma Program. The program comes as part of the partnership between both entities to empower national talent in the museum and science center sectors.
Launched through the Applied College at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, the program aims to qualify specialized professionals capable of contributing to the development of the museum sector and managing knowledge-based and cultural experiences, in line with the rapid growth the Kingdom is witnessing across culture, tourism, and non-traditional education.
The program offers an intermediate diploma over two academic years and targets individuals interested in working in museums, science centers, and cultural institutions. Through an academic pathway, participants will gain essential knowledge and skills in museum management, experience design, visitor engagement, and understanding the role of museums as educational and community platforms.
This step extends ilmi Center’s efforts to support national capacity building and strengthen the role of museums and science centers as spaces for learning, discovery, and inspiration. It also contributes to improving the quality of visitor experiences and creating new professional opportunities for young men and women in this promising sector.
The program also reflects the Center’s commitment to contributing to the development of a specialized educational ecosystem that supports the needs of the museum sector in the Kingdom, through partnerships with academic institutions and quality programs that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, enhancing the readiness of national talent to participate in the future of the sector.
The Museum Management Diploma Program falls within broader objectives aimed at supporting the knowledge economy, developing human capabilities, and enabling youth to acquire specialized professional skills, in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals to advance the cultural, educational, and tourism sectors.
Registration for the program is open for the second semester of the 1446 AH – 2025 academic year. The registration period began on December 5, 2024, and will continue until December 14, 2024, with classes scheduled to begin on January 12, 2025.
